An introduction to kettlebell training

Kettlebells are awesome, but we won't just hand you one and tell you to start working out with it. It takes some coaching and some practice to learn how to use a kettlebell safely and effectively. Ithaca Kettlebells is offering a 2-week, 6-session Kettlebell Foundations course that will get you off to the best possible start in your kettlebell training and allow you to join our ongoing kettlebell classes.
The course will start with some foundational principles of movement and body mechanics — breathing, spinal alignment, the hip hinge, and the most effective core stabilization techniques. After that, you’ll get detailed instruction on proper technique in the key kettlebell exercises: deadlifts, swings, Turkish getups, presses, squats, lunges, rows, and more. You’ll also learn a variety of extremely effective joint mobility and core stability exercises, and you’ll put everything you’re learning into practice with mini-workouts at the end of each teaching session.
The regular price for the Foundations course is $99.
For an even better deal, consider our “Join the Club” membership package. You’ll learn a lot in this 2-week Foundations course, but it will still only be scratching the surface of what you can do with a kettlebell (and what kettlebells can do for you). There’s a lot more to learn, and we want you to keep going for the long haul. So we’re offering a special deal for anyone who signs up for a membership in our ongoing group fitness program, the MoveStrong Training Club, along with the Foundations course.
In the “Join the Club” package, you get the Foundations course PLUS an additional two weeks of training in our regular classes for the same price of $99 — in other words, you get two weeks of group training classes for free after the Foundations course! After that, you’ll automatically continue in the MoveStrong Training Club at the regular price of $77 per month.
More than just a group fitness class, the MoveStrong Training Club is a welcoming training community where club members of all fitness and experience levels can train side by side in a friendly, high-energy environment. After completing the introductory course, you’ll move through a structured series of training programs as you progress from beginner to advanced. Along the way, you’ll learn a variety of new exercises and never repeat exactly the same workout twice.
The current training times for the Club are Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 - 6:15 pm, and Saturdays 11:30 am - 12:15 pm.
