MEMBERSHIP AND INTRODUCTORY PROGRAM INFORMATION
An Ithaca Kettlebells membership combines an introductory program that provides you with detailed instruction in all key kettlebell exercises with ongoing weekly workouts that you can do on your own or in scheduled group sessions.
Our goals are:
If that’s what you’re looking for, here’s how it all works:
The Introductory Program
The process begins with the Introductory Program, which is simply the first two months of your membership. It’s designed to teach you everything you need to know to work out safely and effectively with us.
There are two components to the Introductory Program: the teaching workshops and the weekly workouts.
Teaching Workshops
These workshops will teach you how to do the exercises we do and how to work out the way we work out. The workshops are progressive — each one builds on the material from previous workshops — so all are required.
The teaching workshops will be held at Centerline Martial Arts, 335 Elmira Rd, at the following times:
Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 1:30 - 3 pm
Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 1:30 - 3 pm
Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 2 - 3:30 pm [note the time is different on this day]
Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 1:30 - 3 pm
Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 1:30 - 3 pm
There will probably be one more teaching workshop in April 2025, date TBA.
Some of the topics covered in the teaching workshops include:
Weekly Workouts
In addition to the teaching workshops, you will immediately start receiving three workouts per week delivered to you electronically — just like you will throughout the rest of your membership. The workouts you receive during the introductory period focus on reinforcing and applying what you’ve learned in the teaching workshops. They are both practice sessions and workouts, and the difficulty is easily adjustable to any current fitness level.
You can do these workout/practices on your own or come to in-person group training sessions that will be available at the following times:
After the Introductory Program
After those first two months, you’ll be fully integrated into the regular Ithaca Kettlebells training program. You’ll continue getting three workouts a week delivered to you electronically for as long as you remain a member.
These workouts are never exactly the same and the emphasis shifts from one training block to another, but the overall goals remain constant: to be healthy, to feel great and move well, to be strong and fit enough to do whatever we want to do, and to enjoy each training session.
You can do these workouts on your own or come to in-person training sessions that I currently expect to be available at the following times:

NOTE:
I provide all equipment for any workshops or workout sessions at Centerline.
If you plan to train on your own or come to the outdoor workouts in Stewart Park, you will need to get your own kettlebells. I can often loan kettlebells out for a limited time as you’re getting started, and I can help you figure out which kettlebells to get. But eventually you will need to acquire your own.
I occasionally also offer suggestions about other types of training equipment that are useful for anyone training on their own, but these will always be optional.
